Call for Directors for Southern Queensland NRM

Residents of Southern Queensland with a passion for community-led natural resource management are invited to submit Expressions of Interest (EOI) to become part of Southern Queensland NRM Board of Directors.

The SQ NRM Board of Directors will be skills-based, with two current directors continuing and four new Directors to be appointed, two each from the east and west areas of the region (see map). An independent Chair will also be appointed.

Company Directors are responsible to the membership for overall governance including oversight of the strategic delivery of community-based natural resource management across the Southern Queensland NRM region.

Acting CEO, Bob Frazer, said that it was an exciting time to be involved in NRM in Southern Queensland.

“We are seeking community members who are passionate about shaping community-driven natural resource management across the new region” Mr Frazer said.

“The members of the board for the Southern Queensland region will help create the foundation for sustainable natural resource management in the region – it’s a great opportunity to drive community-led decision-making for the sector.

“The Board is seeking a mix of natural resource management and corporate governance skills and want to ensure the region is well represented” Mr Frazer said.

To nominate as a Director, residents must be a SQ NRM member. EOIs and membership applications must be received by 28 September to be accepted. These forms can be submitted together.

The inaugural General Meeting will be held in Roma on 31 October and the membership of the Board of Directors will be formally declared at that time.

Director EOIs, membership forms and a copy of the SQ NRM constitution are available by emailing

Confidential enquiries can be made to Bob Frazer, the Acting CEO, on 0487 410 382.
